.KEY MESSAGES...
- Showers and thunderstorms are likely Monday. A few storms
could become strong, with the primary hazards being lightning
and small hail.
&&
.UPDATE...
Issued at 1225 PM CDT Sun Jun 14 2026
Clear skies prevail heading into the afternoon, with
temperatures in the 60s. Northwest winds will continue at 10-15
mph, with a few gusts to near 25 mph.
&&
.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 222 PM CDT Sat Jun 13 2026
...Synopsis...
A persistent and strong upper low is expected to remain in place
over the Hudson Bay region through much of next week. Occasional
shortwaves traverse the upper flow into the Northern Plains, with
chances for showers and thunderstorms nearly each day next week.
Ensemble guidance shows pattern confidence; however, timing is less
certain due to shortwave speed and strength. At this time, the best
chances for precipitation will be Monday and Wednesday, but there
are lower chances nearly each day. Looking into Monday, there is a
chance that a few storms could become strong as there will be enough
MUCAPE in the presence of strong lapse rates to allow a mention of
small hail.
